Chase Garage Doors Terms & Conditions

TERMS

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, terms of payment are 25% deposit prior to an order being placed and 75% on final payment on installation. Call out charges for our repair service start from £75 plus vat for a local call out and rises to a maximum depending on the locality with a maximum cost of £105 plus vat applied for distances exceeding 25-mile radius of WS12 4TR. Please be aware that once your appointment is diarised and therefore accepted our fitting team will visit your property on the calendarised date. The call out charge does not alter on the basis of the amount of time spent assessing or rectifying your issue. Please be aware that the call out charge is still applied if we are not in a position to repair your door.  If your door is repairable we will deduct the call-out charge off your parts and labour bill. The customer shall not be entitled to make any deductions or set-off therefrom. The Company reserves the right to charge interest on overdue accounts at the rate of £35 to cover administration costs. Your account should be settled on the day of installation if you are a domestic customer and 30 days if you are a trade customer.  The Company reserves the right where genuine doubts arise as to the customer’s financial position or in the case of failure to pay for any goods or any services as aforesaid to suspend delivery of any order or part or instalment without liability until payment or satisfactory security for payment has been provided.

DELAYED DATES

The delivery dates specified in the contract are approximate and, unless expressly stated, time is not of the essence for delivery. The company will not be liable for the consequences of any delays. No delay shall entitle the customer to reject any delivery or services.
The company will not provide monetary compensation for any delays by manufacturers or for any other unforeseeable reasons.

RIGHT TO CANCEL

When you have placed an order, we process it as soon as possible. If you cancel a bespoke, made to order product, you will be liable for all associated costs. Orders which are of a classified as a standard door allows you a 14-day cooling-off period. The deposit is non- refundable.

WARRANTY: LIMIT OF RESPONSIBILITY

The company warrants in relation to the company’s installation that it will either repair or replace any goods which are found within a period of 12 months from installation (‘the warranty period’) to be defective or ill-fitted. The manufacturer’s warranties will come into force in relation to any defects to the electric operator(s) (excluding remote control units) and garage door(s) including operating gear, as specified in the manufacturer’s literature. Please be aware outside the fitting warranty of a defected part a labour cost will be applied to rectify even a part changed under warranty. This literature is available on our website under each brand to how each warranty differs. Please click on the appropriate link to the one you purchased. Our warranties give you benefits which are in addition to your legal rights. Further information about your legal rights can be obtained from your local Trading Standards Department or the Citizen’s Advice Bureau.

You will receive your warranty information on completion of your install from our fitters and be expected to sign your door off deeming you were happy with our services and your product installed. At this time if your door is eligible for a service in 12 months after install you will be asked about opting in to receive communication about the maintenance scheme before out fitters leave your home. This is a cost of £85 per door and a 50 % discount is applied to further doors serviced on the same day.

DOOR MAINTENANCE AND MAINTENANCE CONTRACT OPTION.

It is recommended all doors and operators should be serviced annually by a professional door installer. It is recommended by all the manufacturers that you service and maintain your door on an annual basis too. If you choose not to adhere to this advice this may well affect your warranty.

SUITABILITY OF THE SITE

The company does not accept any responsibility for conditions occurring due to uneven or sloping floors however every effort will be made to ensure that water ingress is kept to a minimum. Please check for any flooring defects before booking your quotation. Structural modifications are not included in the quotation and will be the customer’s responsibility. Doors will be installed true and square which may exaggerate sloping walls and floors. Our garage doors are not sold on the basis of being WATERTIGHT. Weatherstrips can be purchased to assist with uneven floors.

No fitters will be responsible for moving your personal possessions within your garage to allow them the suitable freedom to work. Please ensure all areas are cleared fit for purpose prior to the day of install.

DRAWINGS AND INFORMATION

The company will assume that all measurements and other information supplied to the company is accurate and suitable for the customer’s requirements for orders placed on a supply only basis where free site surveys have not been conducted. Our qualified fitters take full responsibility for ensuring your garage door opening is measured correctly. All roller doors are site surveyed and quoted subject to this survey report. No roller doors are ordered without this process taking place.

QUOTATION

Quotations are valid for 90 days from the date of issue. Unless stated, the estimate does not include:
The cost of making good brickwork, rendering, pointing, floor or timber which has been damaged during installation which is not caused by our negligence in installing the door(s). If we believe the existing supporting structure is unsuitable to install a new door(s) we will inform you at the time of quotation. Our advice is given as a result of our experience and if you decide to place an order with us despite our advice, we cannot be responsible for the continued suitability of the existing timbers after installation. If you have any doubts, we advise you to instruct a surveyor to carry out a full inspection.

You are responsible for the clearing the area where the products are to be fitted and we cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage caused to items not removed or adequately protected by you unless the loss or damage is caused by our negligent work.

If you order products from us, or you provide us with measurements or other details for products which you ask us to install, which are subsequently discovered to be wrong, misleading for additional costs incurred by us in replacing any such products urgently unless such replacement is as a result of our erroneously advising you as to the suitability of the product in question.

IMPROPER USE OF YOUR DOOR

Please ensure you do not use chemicals to clean your garage door this will affect the coating and operation of your door. External influences such as water, wind or abnormal environmental effects may alter the performance and operation of your door. Please be aware we will not be held responsible for any of these above.

RECODING HANDSETS & BATTERY CHANGE

If you need to change your batteries in your handset, please be aware there will be a charge to visit you to recode your handset of £65 plus Vat. This charge is subject to location and can be anything up to £95 plus Vat.

RENDER DAMAGE

Chase garage doors will not be held responsible for any render damage or repair during installation. If we foresee that any damage is likely to occur this will be discussed with you during your quotation and prior to installation. We will aim to cause a little damage as possible but sometimes its avoidable in some situations to allow you to fit your chosen door correctly. Render repair is not part of our service.

OWNERSHIP AND RISK

The goods shall remain the property of the Company until your invoice has been paid in full.

FORCE MAJEURE

The Company shall not be liable to the Customer or be deemed to be in breach of the contract by reason of any delay in performing, or failure to perform, any obligation of the Company under the contract if such delay or failure was due to any cause beyond the Company’s reasonable control including (but not limited to) Act of God, import or export regulations, industrial disputes, difficulties in obtaining materials or labour, power failure, machinery or transport breakdown.

CONTRACT

A Contract shall be formed only on acceptance by the Company of a Customer’s Order once the customer has confirmed their order by accepting the email acceptance process. You will receive an email asking you to check all details are correct. We will accept no responsibility if an order is placed and details are deemed to be an error. We will only proceed to order once you’ve accepted this process and paid your 25 % deposit.

RECYCLING

We dispose of your old door freely and ensure this is collected from our premises by the local scrap metal merchants. This is a FREE service we provide.

RAL TO CHOOSE OPTION

We do offer a RAL choose option on some of our doors with a select number of manufacturers.

If you wish to supply us with a RAL code, we will be happy to assist you, to assess whether this is something we can assist you with. Please be aware we hold no responsibility for the incorrect code being supplied to us, and once an order is placed, the door will be sold to you and invoiced accordingly.
